Insect Control

Insects can create unsightly bare spots or completely destroy a beautiful green lawn. Underground, grubs feed on the roots and from above, a variety of insects can cause additional damage. Lawn Systems Inc. effectively controls beetles, grubs, ants, chinch bugs, webworms, and many other insect pests. Many insects live in lawns and turfs. Under ideal conditions, only a few need no attention or control, otherwise these small but destructive bugs can cause tremendous destruction.
Above the ground, several types of insects can destroy plants by sucking the juices from them as they grow. When lawns are stressed , or when newly seeded, insect damage may be more severe.
At various times during the year additional insect pests may be present in the thatch layer. These feed on grass blades in the thatch.
Some insects, such as ants and wasps, nest in the ground and form hills around their external openings. This can result in large-scale damage to lawns. They may smother grass or ruin grass roots. They also may eat grass seeds or bite people and animals. Still, while they can be destructive they are important. They provide natural soil aeration and recycle nutrients. Grubs are the most serious soil-inhabiting lawn pest, their most distinctive feature being the C-shape or curled position they assume.
Lawn Systems knows chemical control is most effective method used to lessen the damage of insects. From the early spring to the late fall, applications prevent a modest problem from getting out of control.
