Tree and Shrub Pruining

Picture
Once the decision has been made to prune, your next decision is whether to tackle the job yourself. In the case of a large tree where you want to remove big branches in the upper area of the crown, it may be best to hire experts. Large tree pruning, in particular, can require climbing and heavy saws or even “cherry-pickers” and chain saws. This job should be left to trained and experienced professionals. Never compromise personal safety in pruning a tree, let Lawn Systems handle this task safely.

Correct pruning is an essential maintenance practice for trees and shrubs in the landscape. However, many regard pruning with considerable, though unnecessary, apprehension. Pruning is not difficult if you understand the basics, learn why, when, and how to prune.

Lawn Systems Inc. will examine your trees and shrubs annually for pruning requirements. Too often, pruning is ignored for several years. When some treesand shrubs become overgrown and weak, drastic pruning may be necessary to bring the plant back to a healthy state. Regular pruning will help keep the plant in bounds and keep its growth vigorous.

A tree or shrub may need pruning for a variety of reasons:
- We will trim to remove diseased or storm-damaged branches
- We will thin the crown to permit new growth and better air circulation
- We can reduce the height of a trees improving their fullness
- We can remove obstructing lower branches and shape a tree for design purposes

Tree and Shrub Pruning Details

-Shrubbery is trimmed with the Spring Clean-up of the property, again a fall trimming.
-There are many species of plants that require more care than others do, therefore additional trimming is necessary to continue a natural, neat appearance.
-Hand trimming of shrubbery may take place in the winter months
